Plays

I have several plays published by online publisher Lazy Bee Scripts. These include two full-length, comedy plays: Happiness and Celebrity. I’ve also penned several One Act comedy murder mysteries, including Murder at Dress Rehearsal and Murder at Peculiar Manor.

My plays are performed by amateur drama groups and schools all over the world. They are also used for classroom study. More details of individual plays are set out below (including web links to the plays on the Lazy Bee Scripts website):

Happiness

Everybody wants it. Not everybody finds it.

Blurb: Just 48 hours before chic designer Philippa is due to marry awkward academic Christopher, she has to bury her beloved Aunt Susan – the guiding light in her life. With her fiance seemingly more worried about his happiness thesis, the wedding plans seem doomed when news arrives that the best man and chief bridesmaid are both in hospital. With Philippa questioning whether marriage will truly make her happy, her larger-than-life Aussie uncle, crazy future sister-in-law and ex-fiance all add to the emotional chaos as the clock ticks towards Philippa and Christopher’s big day. Will they, or won’t they, find true happiness?

Murder at Dress Rehearsal

Dress rehearsals are always murder. But this one is more murderous than usual…

It’s dress rehearsal night for the Piffling Players amateur drama group. Their production of German wartime drama ‘Ich Liebe Dich’ features local businessman and giant ego Clinton Starr in the leading role. Appearing alongside him are his girlfriend Talulah, ex-wife Deborah and dodgy local councillor Nessa. Add a director who demands perfection and a prompt who’s bored witless with it all, and you have all the ingredients for an explosive evening. And it really is explosive…someone switches the blank ammunition for live bullets and Clinton dies on stage. But who is the murderer? And why did they want him dead? Inspector Harry Hollywood is hot on the trail of the killer…and a nice cup of tea, if he can get one.
